Today I chose to be present to sensations and sounds. I closed my eyes and could hear birds, in the trees, the wind from the fan. I can feel my heart beat in my fingertips, in a way I can hear the vibration of the heart beat in my hands through my body. When I was a child I used to see if I could hear the directional change of wind in the trees.
I often wonder how much of life I truly miss, sometimes I think I am present, and then I discover a whole new aspect of the miracle we live in, some detail, a whole new world I never noticed before.
What new world within the one you know well have you noticed this week?

My body was feeling sluggish and bogged down. I had been hard at work at my desk and hadn’t taken the usual time to do my Chen Taijiquan. Finally, I got up and began to move. My body’s call for some self-care was loud. After just a short while, any jittery feeling in the body, disquiet, lack-of-focus, vanished, replaced by an ease, a sense of my own well-being, a deep presence in the moment and a renewed focus. A truly refreshed body and mind. My body was clear and my mind was ready for whatever work tossed my way.
How long do you wait when your body is talking to you before you respond?
