Hunger is Very Personal

What do you think would happen if 35,000 people were dying for no reason in the United States or Great Britain?

Are you willing to look very, very carefully about why we are not responding to exactly this situation in third world countries?

Presence

There are times when words are not only unnecessary, they detract from a situation. In the midst of chaos, the busyness of life or a significant life event, take a single minute with a person you love absolutely and without condition, stand opposite them and simply focus on how much you appreciate their presence in your life for one minute.

Is the first thing you want to do when the minute is over is speak to them?

Prepare for the Unexpected

Tonight I reviewed the eulogy a dear friend was writing
for one of his best friends, who died very young,
leaving a wife and small children.
The only thing I could think
that might be important to those with
whom he will speak is to once again remember
that there is no second beyond this second guaranteed.

What on Earth could be more important in this last
second than an expression of loving-kindness to or with
another being?
