Lessons From a Wood Pigeon

Yesterday in the courtyard of Regents College in London, I saw a spectacular, new (only to me, of course) species of pigeon, a Wood Pigeon. It was the most gorgeous color green I have ever seen and had a beautiful white collar.

I wonder whether there is any creature that, if observed carefully, will not bring forth to the heart and mind the miracle of life?

Seeing Miracles Even In Pain

Recently, there has been strenuous physical exercise such that the only parts of my body that didn’t hurt were my three artificial joints.

Can you imagine the miraculous nature of that pain?

We Can End This Now

The estimates of loss of life as a result of the earth quake and tsunami in Japan are at 17,000 souls and expected to reach 25,000. My heart goes out to all the people of Japan and their global family.

I wonder when we will finally awake, become aware and internalize that each and EVERY day, at least 25,000 people die of hunger and starvation, needlessly and that we can end this situation now?

The other day I saw an estimate that the cost of rebuilding all of what has been destroyed in Japan will be in the neighborhood of 256 Billion Dollars.

Would you find it interesting that according to Forbes, the top 25 wealthiest people in the world could accomplish that without even using half of their assets?
