If the next thing you contemplate doing is not loving and kind……
What sort of contribution do you believe it will be?
If, in order for me to love you, you have to perform in a particular way, do things I “request” or in some other way live up to my expectations, then what is the real nature of these “transactions?”
Are they a genuine gift or are they simply a way to modify your behavior??
In one of my recent classes, a student said in the second week that they were absolutely sure that there was no such thing as absolute and unconditional love.
The primary reason was that they and everyone else they knew had had people do terrible things to them that would never have happened if the other person had really loved them.
What if the only reason people do intentional damage to another being is that, in reality, they have never experienced absolute and unconditional love?
