VOID

by Bill Cumming

It is my experience that there is a huge void in our global society. We do not experience that we live in a global society, that we are all part of one inexorably connected family of 7,632,819,365 people (today’s population estimate).

What happens to one of us happens to all of us.

We are now able to see that the damage that exists around the world in all of its forms is something we humans created and continue to create.

We must own our responsibility for the past in order for a new future to be possible.

The United States was not the “New World” to the Native American Tribes of North America.

We have never begged forgiveness for or appropriately responded to the enslavement of African Americans, which in many subtle and not so subtle ways continues to this day.

I believe Pope Francis has begun to ask The Holy Catholic Church to own its history of sexual abuse, greed and self-glorification as “the only way.”

What is your country’s past damage to own?

Is your company, organization, club operating in the best interests of all of its members?

Until every country, organization and individual begins the process of owning their past and choosing their future, little will change.

Corporations must exist for everyone’s benefit, funders, leaders, workers and consumers, not simply the elite wealthy 1%.

It can never be America (or anyone else) first again.

It must be America, one of many, for all, not the few.

We must also have highly visible, known people calling for the wellness of all.

We must have ways of finding the best that exists and strive for better.

We must see that every word we communicate, not grounded in loving-kindness, contributes to the problem.

We must be able to have communication without condemnation.

Who among you agrees?

Who among you will commit to a way of being that calls forth “A World That Works for Everyone?”

Who among you will commit to a way of being that values every person, no exceptions or exclusions?

Who among you will speak to everyone you know about these opportunities?

Who among you will seek out the most publically visible people you know and ask them to call or e-mail us at The Boothby Institute to discuss and orchestrate a “A World That Works for Everyone.”

May all that is good and wonderful in you and every member of our family rise to meet the task ahead!

Imagine, just for a moment each day, that what we are pointing to here is a pragmatic and practical possibility.

We can do this!

With all the love we know!

Namaste!
