For Somali Children, Even Soccer Can Be Deadly

WAJID, Somalia – Abukar Mursal stopped going outside to play after a bullet grazed his back during a soccer game in Mogadishu, the wretched seaside capital where he was born.

When Self Care Matters Most

Almost everyone who knows me knows how important I think self care is. The kind of self care that truly nourishes who you are, be it a walk, meditation, reading, spending time with family, friends. And almost everyone who knows me knows how incredibly busy my life currently is, a whirlwind of activity and commitments. Inside of all of that, really great self care becomes more important than ever.

Why is it then that I’ve let self care slip to the bottom of my list?
